Credit report review

Credit report review & dispute support

We help you understand what’s on your credit reports, identify possible reporting errors, and prepare disputes that are based on the facts and supporting records.

What we look for

  • Accounts that aren’t yours
  • Incorrect balances, limits, or payment status
  • Duplicate entries for the same debt
  • Information that may be outdated under federal reporting time limits
  • Personal information that doesn’t belong to you

How disputes work

A dispute asks a credit reporting company to investigate information you believe is inaccurate or incomplete. Credit reporting companies generally must investigate within 30 days, and they may contact the company that supplied the information. If information can’t be verified, it must be corrected or removed. The outcome depends on the facts and on decisions made by the credit reporting companies and creditors.

What we don’t do

  • We don’t dispute accurate, current information just to try to remove it.
  • We don’t create new credit identities or suggest using a different number in place of your Social Security number.
  • We don’t guarantee a score increase, a deletion, a lower interest rate, or loan approval.
  • We don’t provide legal advice.

You can do this yourself

You can dispute credit report errors directly with the credit reporting companies for free. You can also get your reports through AnnualCreditReport.com. Our paid service, if available to you, provides review, organization, and follow-up support.

Fees: Every credit file is different, so we don’t quote one price for everyone. Like a doctor who examines before recommending treatment, we first need to understand your situation. After a free consultation, if our services are a fit, we’ll explain the proposed services, total agreed fees, and applicable payment timing in writing before you enroll. How fees work.
